March 2008 Order Number: E35350-001US The Intel® Desktop Board DG35EC may contain design defects or errors known as errata that may cause the product to deviate from published specifications. Current characterized errata are documented in the Intel Desktop Board DG35EC Specification Update. Mother dg35ec. HD 320 GB sata. My problem is with the temp lectures in the bios indicate 102ªc for cpu, but everest give me 43 cpu nº1 35 32 34 in the rest of cores, but i dont get readings of board temperature, fan speed. This could be a bios outdated? I have a bios version from august 2008. That could be the problem?
Sold and Shipped by Newegg
Pros: I am currently running this machine with a Q6600 Processor and a GeForce GTX 560TI video card. Can play CoD-MW3, Need for speed hot pursuit, most wanted, Amnesia, Skyrim, Diablo 3, etc. Running on a dual boot with windows 7 and 8. No Problems
Cons: Granted its a micro ATX board but i still wish it had a second PCI Express x 16 Slot for SLI. Overclocking options would be nice to but i am not missing it.
Pros: Nice all-in-one board for inexpensive system building.
I built a system with this board back in 6/2009 and it has been on 7x24 since with absolutely no problems. (Okay, I've had problems but that's with Win/XP and not with the MoBo or other hardware components.)
Back in 9/2008 I built a system for a friend with the predecessor to this MoBo - the Intel DG33TL. It's also been running just fine since then.
To build a system with minimal fuss this was a good choice for me.
I give it four eggs only because I've never found a motherboard whose layout is worth five eggs. There's always something that's going to make you wonder 'how the heck did they decide to put *that* there?'
For building a general-purpose computer I would use this MoBo again.
Cons: For what I wanted to build, none.
Other Thoughts: System built with the following components:
- Intel BOXDG35EC LGA 775 Intel G35 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
- Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80570E8400

- Western Digital Caviar Blue WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5' Internal Hard Drive
- Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Black SATA Model AD-7240S-0B (Q=2)
- ENERMAX Liberty ELT400AWT 400W ATX12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply
- G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ
- Antec Solo Black/Silver Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Stock CPU cooling fan.
All purchased from Newegg.
Pros: It works,
and stuff like that
Cons: Let's see.
- Random Death Screens on Windows when running MCE, WMP, or sometimes random programs that try to use HPET when disabled or enabled.
-As stated before, IDE PATA does not stay active; destroyed my old 200GB Hard Drive, and one CD/DVDRW drive. you would have to either restart or hibernate the computer to get it back.
-as soon as i got the board, the DVI Port failed to work, and a memory holder latch broke. after installing a GFX card, and taking it out because i was cleaning my computer, and testing everything out, All intel video refused to work.
-to SIIG card reader people: This board completely deactivates the reader after a while. i still have yet to try it on a new board.
-MAJOR ISSUES-
-1- The Memory after extended on time or use will sometimes shut down and the computer completely thinks that it is overheated. after rebooting, the entire computer stays off until you completely take all of the modules out, and insert them one at a time, turning the [-(go down)-]
Other Thoughts: [-(continued)-]
computer on with every insert, turning it off between inserting.
-2- After going into Suspension Mode, or Hibernation mode, the board will not make the effort to enable itself without completely shutting off or unpluging or restarting or resettnig the computer. After tht, youll get the resuming windows and like that, but its really annoying to keep doing.
My point is if you want to get this board, get an external graphics card if you want uninterrupted use of video on your system, prepare for the shutdowns, and reset button pressing. PUMP THOSE FINGER JOINTS!
Pros: Nice feature set and price - if it worked.
Cons: This motherboard is horrible.
Here are the symptoms:
1. Random freezes.
2. Blue screens when using IE or WMP.
3. PATA CD-ROM disappears (you must unplug, reboot, replug, reboot again).
4. Atrocious performance - a program that I run starts out estimating 8 minutes to complete, then suddenly bogs down and takes 1 hour and 25 minutes. The same job takes 4 minutes on my 2 year old desktop, and 11 minutes on my 6 year old laptop!
I can't believe Intel would put their name on this piece of junk.
Other Thoughts: Look at the low ratings. Web search the model and see lots of complaints about the freezes and the PATA problem. Save your money, and a lot of aggravation and try something else.
Pros: This Intel G35 chipset ICH8 controller with 4-SATA ports, 2 EIDE and up to 8gb of ram system board runs great with the Intel Core2Quad 2.86 GHZ processor. I have VMware ESXi3.5 running on it with a Western Digital 1 TB SATA hard drive and a SATA DVD writer.
Cons: This Intel G35 Chipset ICH8 controller system board has a Network controller that is not compatible with VMware ESX server operating system. I had to install a PCI 3com network controller in order for the ESX server to recognize the network after with runs great.
Other Thoughts: This Intel corp. needs to communicate with VMware corp. and make the controllers/components compatible just like Intel and Microsoft. If this system board would have the Intel ICH8 (ICH8R) controller with raid technology would also work well.
Pros: Price, onboard video card.
Cons: onboard video card is not that good.
Other Thoughts: I bought this board for a media center pc. On my 47 inch TV. Video is below average. On my 23 inch TV video is only average. Only good for surfing the net.
Pros: I have built two VMware ESXi 4.0 servers using this board. Support for 8 GB is great. The built in ethernet port is recognized by ESXi.
Cons: I might go one less PCI Express slot and one more PCI slot. But that's just me.
Other Thoughts: Built a ESXi server with quad core, 8GB, 1TB for around $610.
Pros: I've bought motherboards from primarily 1st tier manufacturers/suppliers, such as Abit (R.I.P.), Asus, Gigabyte, and Intel), and I've always had the best luck with Intel in terms of Customer Service, and continued BIOS improvements. Yes, I know... Intel Desktop Boards are actually manufactured by Foxconn. The latest BIOS for this board (0116) greatly improves the board, and adds additional CPU Fan Control options, especially for non-Intel HSF solutions. Previously, the CPU Fan Control in the BIOS was very limited - someone at Intel has been listening. The board just keeps getting better.
Cons: None, given it's a micro-ATX board design.
Other Thoughts: Intel's website, and ease of BIOS updates, is the best in the industry. I've used Asus and Gigabyte's websites, and most often, slow is the word.
